  • Makeup look: autumnal inspiration and drugstore products

Today is a very important day, well, for me anyways: my first makeup look is going live! I’ve been playing around with makeup for about two years now and I really do love experimenting with different eye shadow colours. Since it is (finally) autumn, I played around with a few typical autumnal colours, like orange, yellow and red. All the products I used were very affordable. I will link them all below the post.

I’m not an expert when it comes to putting on makeup, but usually I start with the darkest colour in the crease of my eye. Then I add the lightest colour in the inner corner of my eye and the medium colour in the middle. I think the most important thing is that you have to blend well so that all the colours work together. So, let’s get started!

    makeup products

I bought all the products in a drugstore called Kruidvat, it offers very affordable makeup from MUA, Essence, Revolution and so on. When I do my makeup, I always start with my eye brows. I use an eye shadow palette by MUA for this, because pencils are a bit too harsh for my brows and I just think the colour suits me pretty well.

After that I get started on my eyes. In this case I took a red/orange colour to put in my crease. The light colour I picked was a yellow, and the medium one an orange. Since those three colours worked very well together, I took a red eye pencil from NYX to put on my waterline. That way I could really imitate the forest in autumn in my makeup look.

Since I am not an expert at putting on makeup at all, I leave putting on concealer for last. That way I can easily get rid of fallen eye shadow. To finish off my eyes, I use a black mascara from Essence. Normally, I love using brown mascaras, but you just cannot find those in a drugstore anymore.

Finally, lips! I love, love, love lipstick, however, since this look is already pretty heavy on the eyes, I chose to go with a neutral, reddish lip. It worked perfectly with my eye shadow look, because the colour wasn’t too bright.

On the overview you can also see a bottle of perfume I bought. It was about 5 euros I think and it is soooo good! I bought a second bottle, just to make sure I had it for a long time. I’ve been wearing it for a month now, and it’s like I just started the bottle, that’s how much is still in there. It’s also part of a limited edition, so if you want one, you’ll have to get one soon. I’m in love with the scent!

I hope you enjoyed this makeup look. The next one I’ll do will probably be one for the holidays. If you want me to post something in particular, do let me know in the comments.
